This episode was an interesting one as there were many interactions that haven’t happened before. The gang’s idea for this week is to take the money from the kid’s rides at the mall rather than the vending machines, by sneaking in through a dumpster ala Trojan Horse style and disguising themselves as cleaners. The logic behind their idea is that
Read moreIn my last review, I pointed out that Trans didn’t appear and I was worried that she was going to be written out. With this episode, I happily ate my words as not only did she reappear but she was at the centre of the episode. Steve’s idea for this week was a pop up nightclub in Trans’ pork roll
Read morePer last week, I’ll be reviewing this episode character by character. Charlie, Matt and Ivy—The majority of the episode focused on them so I’ll start the review on them. Despite Charlie giving Carlito two more weeks to stay, he ups and leaves early in the morning but not before being caught in the act by Matt. After this the majority
Read moreThis week’s episode was unique as Steve’s idea didn’t come to him straight away and was pretty much handed to him on a silver platter or rather a rare black and gold bowl. The episode kicked off with the gang having a garage sale to try and make money, interestingly it was a legitimate way to make some money but
Read moreI was very critical of last week’s episode as I felt the writers dropped the ball, with this week’s episode I felt the writers got back on track with the original plan for this season. For this episode, I’ll be doing a character by character review. Meryl—This week the promo revolved around Meryl and Carlito apparently dating. Of course they
Read moreThis week’s episode pretty much followed the formula it established last week—-Steve instantly comes up with an idea that’s bound to fail, he and his Street Smart gang get to work fast, the failure happens and they’re back at square one. This week’s idea—-youth cream. I felt that the youth cream idea was a more realistic goal and a less
Read moreIn all honesty, I made my mind up about this episode about halfway through, I wasn’t a fan and the writers have dropped the ball and I’ll tell you why. First and foremost is the reveal that Hugh’s ex-wife, Harriet (Genevieve Hegney), is pregnant with his child. When the promos said this would be the biggest baby drama they really
Read moreAlthough I don’t do it very often, I do like doing my reviews character by character. When I do it, it’s usually because there was so much that happened in an episode, the easiest way to review it all is to break it down character by character. I felt that this episode was a little slow moving at first but
Read moreWell this season premiere got off to an intense start with the main focus being on Jim’s death and a minor focus on Hugh’s ending probation. As the premiere was so intense and there’s a lot to cover, I’m going to do this review character by character. Meryl and Hayley—Meryl and Hayley’s interactions in this episode were the most intense
Read moreStreet Smart was described in TV Week‘s previews issue as a “hilarious and entertaining look at a team of bumbling crims who dream of fast cars, attractive women and getting rich quick.” I feel like the pilot lived up to most of this description. When I read that Street Smart is the brainchild of Here Come the Habibs co-creators, Tahir
