Resolutions
Another year gone by,
time sure does fly,
it’s time to turn the page
get ready to wipe life’s slate.
Make a mental note
of all you hope
and seek for the New Year,
check back here
before your life begins again.
Always have a few resolutions up your sleeve
in case with some, you have to concede defeat.
Is this the year for love?
Is this the year you do that fun run?
Is this the year you’ll earn more than your annual sum?
In time we’ll all be told
what the New Year will hold.
This is the time,
to look back on what you’ve achieved
and where you’ve conceded.
Whether it’s been a year of bliss
or just a hit-and-miss.
This is the time,
to take a deep breath
and set yourself free.
