Thanking my Mother for Piano Lessons (poem title)**

Thanking my Mother for Piano Lessons

I thank my mother for piano lessons,

so I can make my own sounds

I thank my mother for gymnastic classes,

so I could try leaps and bounds.

I thank my mother for the netball training,

so I could be like the other girls

I thank my mother for letting me bowl,

knock down the pins

and take on the high school world.

I thank my mother for my pocket money,

so I could learn to stretch a penny

I thank my mother for the cheques she signed,

so I could go on excursions and explore places, oh so many!

I thank my mother for driving lessons,

putting me on the road to independence.

I thank my mother for all her lessons

and for all her endless blessings.

I thank my mother for piano lessons,

so I can make my own sounds…
