John Marsden Writing Topic #336

Write a poem to the end of a season**

Summer

Farewell summer…

and your bright sunny days

Farewell summer…

and your gruelling heatwaves.

Farewell summer…

and your ice cool treats

Farewell summer…

and the inevitable ice-cream brain freeze.

Farewell summer…

and the enticing beaches

Farewell summer…

it’s time to put away my one-piece.

Farewell summer…

I’ll see you again at the end of the year

Farewell summer…

I can’t wait for you to come back here.
