Plain Jane
Jane looked plainly,
this was due to her mainly
not wearing make-up or her hair down.
She acted sanely,
never vainly or insanely,
nor spoke profanely.
She was always a good girl,
willing to face the world,
even when the other kids,
thought she was ungainly
and treated her inhumanely,
with only few friends
that would treat her humanely.
One day,
she would find her way
and go on to live urbanely.
