Write a poem that will persuade someone to do something or to believe something**

The thoughts are back in your head
of everything you’d done and said,
that last fight
is eating you up inside.
Silence suddenly filled the room that day,
you both walked away,
never looking back,
after the attack.
Life moved on,
but the thoughts never done.
How long did it take
for you to realise you were wrong?
It’s not too late,
take your pride
and set it aside,
it’s never too late
to apologise.
She might still care,
she might pretend you were never there,
she might listen,
she might talk,
she might cry,
you’ll never know unless you try.
How long did it take
for you to realise you were wrong?
It’s not too late,
take your pride
and set it aside,
it’s never too late
to apologise.
I can’t guarantee a happy ending,
or that it’ll ease the guilt,
or that she’ll forgive.
But at least she’ll know you cared,
that she mattered,
hopefully she’ll leave:
feeling a little less shattered,
feeling at peace
and she’ll be able to move on and truly live.
How long will it take
for you to take action
and make things right?
It’s not too late,
take your pride
and set it aside
it’s never too late
to apologise.
