‘We had the experience but we missed the meaning.’ (T.S. Eliot) Is this the story of your life so far?**
I’ve interpreted this quote to mean that I will have many experiences in my life but I’ll miss the meaning or the lesson that can be learnt from these experiences.
This has been the story of my life so far, to some extent. I have had many life experiences but sometimes I don’t realise what lessons I’ve learnt or needed to learn from them until some time has passed. However there have been some times where I have had experiences and learnt the lessons I needed to learn from them straight away.
