John Marsden Writing Topic #466

What on-going sore points are there between you and your parent/s?**

My mum and I–Her body image problems have kind of seeped through to me. One example is that she is obviously excited that I’m trying to lose weight even though she is not outright honest about her feelings.

My dad and I–When he use to tell me that I should be more organised that would really get under my skin and my mum’s too (when he used to say it to her). However this is a former sore spot due to the fact that when I was a teenager I would speak up and inform him that just because I’m not organised the way he is or wants me to be, that doesn’t mean that I’m unorganised. Another former sore point would be the tone he would speak to me with as a child, due to how intimidating and rude it would be sometimes.
