Describe the most painful experience of your life**

The most painful experience of my life was losing my Nan (my father’s mother).

My Nan was the first grandparent of mine to die and she was the grandparent that I was closest to. She died of lung cancer when I was 14. She died a painful death and over four months I was watched her deteriorate, her last words to me were “who’s that?”

Her death marked the first real loss I had ever experienced in my life, I knew she was going to die but knowing never eased the pain.
