Do we live in a democracy?**
Australia’s political system is democratic, so we (Australians) actually do live in a democracy. However, as grateful as I am for democracy, I do sometimes question its effectiveness. Once we have voted in an election, we have no control of what happens once the preferred party and its representatives are in office and what they do. A good example of this would be the multiple leadership spills across both sides of Federal Government over the last five years.
