My Textbook (Year 11 – Mathematics Advanced) & Advanced Assignments

The textbook that TAFE uses for their Year 11 Mathematics Advanced course is Maths in Focus – Mathematics Advanced.

The textbook is published by Nelson, a Cengage Company. The preface of the textbook states that it has been re-written for the new Mathematics Advanced syllabus (2017). The Mathematics Advanced course is designed for students who intend to study at university, in a field that requires mathematics, especially calculus and statistics.

There are 10 chapters in the Maths in Focus – Mathematics Advanced textbook:

  1. Algebraic Techniques
  2. Equations and Inequalities
  3. Functions
  4. Trigonometry
  5. Further Functions
  6. Introduction to Calculus
  7. Probability
  8. Exponential and Logarithmic Functions
  9. Trigonometric Functions
  10. Discrete Probability Distributions

The TAFE Year 11 Mathematics Advanced course consists of five assignments, on the content in the textbook, with three out of the five assignments (2, 4 and 5) making up my final grade.
