Nonsense**
Happy Birthday
Today’s my birthday.
I’m forty; an age society tells us, especially for women, that they are starting to get old, are over the hill and are supposed to behave a certain way. I’ve never given into this kind of pressure and I don’t intend to start, but it doesn’t mean that I’ve never felt it.
My personality has been described as “flamboyant” and “never furious”, so I’m throwing a flamboyant, nonsense-themed party. Outside in the sun, whimsy decorations, even a fortune teller and food filled with flavour. I’ll even be wearing a flamboyant costume, head-to-toe with colour, bright make-up and a pretty feather in my hair.
Even though I’m forty, I’ll always be a kid at heart and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Happy birthday to me!
