Year of the Fun Walk 2019–Wagga Wagga Trail Marathon 2019 (August)

My Year of the Fun Walk run for August was this year’s Wagga Wagga Trail Marathon.

This fun run marks the first fun run I’ve completed in my home town of Wagga Wagga since the Lake to Lagoon in 2007.

The Wagga Wagga Trail Marathon is a full-weekend running event and is regarded as the premier distance running event in the Riverina. It is family friendly with a variety of distances and all events started and finished at Pomigalarna Reserve.

The 1.5km kids, 5km and 10km runs were held on Saturday 17 August, and the half-marathon, marathon and the MTB (mountain bike riding) marathon were held on Sunday 18 August 2019. I completed the 5km walk.

This event was unique in that it was a trail and not a road event. I even went through an underground tunnel at one point.

I completed the 2019 Wagga Wagga Trail Marathon in 1 hour, 2 minutes and 15 seconds. I was a little disappointed in this time as it was slower than usual.

Images from the day, including my Strava data and my Finisher’s Certificate and Medal can be found below.
