Laundry Night
I love going to the laundromat every Friday night because that’s where my best friend lives.
I feel such joy when I walk in and I see her, sometimes I worry I take her for granted, she does my laundry once a week, every week and I don’t see her any other time. But she always does a good job and never lets me down.
However when I went in tonight, she had something to tell me for a change, leaving a note for me:
“Friday 21st we are closed.”
Closed? No! Why? There’s no point asking, she can’t tell me, the laundromat’s never been closed before and there was nothing on the note to tell me why.
I guess I’ve got no choice but to make new friends at the laundromat a couple of blocks away next week.
