2019 Four Seasons: Four Miles–a year-long fun walking (not running) challenge

In my quest to find virtual runs to fulfil my Year of the Fun Walk, I came across a unique virtual run challenge, a year-long virtual run, 2019 Four Seasons: Four Miles.

2019 Four Seasons: Four Miles is hosted by Virtual Run Events. According to the Virtual Run Events website, 2019 Four Seasons: Four Miles is a 4 mile (6.4km) virtual run or walk (per season) to celebrate the seasons for 2019.

To successfully complete the challenge, participants have to complete their spring race between March 21 and June 20, their summer race between June 21 and September 20, their autumn race between September 21 and December 20, and their winter race anytime after December 21. The challenge begun with spring.

The entry fee is US$20/per season (US$80 for the entire year), with 15 percent of the fee being donated to Soles 4 Souls. Soles 4 Souls is a US-based charity that “creates sustainable jobs and provides relief through the distribution of shoes and clothing around the world.”

I immediately fell in love with this challenge the moment I came across it due to its unique nature of being a year-long challenge. This challenge provides a great way of keeping me active with a specific goal, not to mention it can assist me with continuing my Year of the Fun Walk 2019 challenge.

I’ll be publishing blog posts on each race throughout the year. I’ve already completed my spring and summer races, on April 27 and June 22 respectively. My autumn race is next, which I will be completing at some point between September and December.

Stay tuned!
