John Marsden Writing Topic #280

‘I’m looking at the river but I’m dreaming of the sea.’ Randy Newman. Write about someone in a comparable situation**

Looking and Dreaming

I’m looking at the river

but I’m dreaming of the sea,

I like my job and I’m good at it

but it’s not right for me.

I’m looking at the river

but I’m dreaming of the sea,

I don’t want to settle

I want to use my degree.

I’m looking at the river

but I’m dreaming of the sea,

I want to find love

but the right love for me.

I’m looking at the river

but I’m dreaming of the sea,

I like living on the coast

but I want the chance to move

and see where I can live life the most.

I’m looking at the river

but I’m dreaming of the sea,

I want a work-life balance,

I want hobbies to enjoy,

family and friends to see.

I’m looking at the river

but I’m dreaming of the sea,

I want to live and have more out of life

I can’t wait to see

where it will take me.
