Write a letter to a flower, a tree or the moon**

Dear Red Rose,

How are you? I’m guessing you’re good as you’re one of the most beautiful and popular flowers in the world. Are the white, pink and yellow roses jealous of your popularity?

How do you feel about being the symbol of deep love and affection or alternatively, the make-up gift or ruse for someone who is cheating on their partner or worse, being cheated on?

According to the internet, red roses symbolise love, affection and desire. Do you wish that you were used to convey different types of feelings?

How do you feel when you’re in a florist’s on display? How do you feel when you’re purchased? How do you feel when your stems are cut, shortened and you’re arranged with other flowers? Do you have any flower rivals or even enemies?

How do you feel on Valentine’s Day? It must be the best and hardest day of the year for you and your fellow red rose comrades.

How do you feel when you’re in a garden, with the sun shining on your face? How do you feel in the different seasons and which one is your favourite?

How do you feel when you start to wilt and die? Are you as afraid of death as us humans are?

I’ll leave it here for now, Merry Christmas, I hope you’re part of a nice arrangement.

One of your many admirers.
