John Marsden Writing Topic #138
From Writing Topic #131 until Writing Topic #149 are “based on a book”. The book I have chosen to focus on is Where Rainbows End by Cecelia Ahern.
‘The further it’s seen to be from people’s own understanding, the more evil it’s seen to be.’ Is this true of situations in the book?**
The only situation in Where Rainbows End that I believe fits this topic is Greg’s choice to hide Alex’s love letter from Rosie and consequently demanding/threatening Alex to stay away from her. Greg’s actions aren’t evil but they are cruel considering how he treated Rosie and that he clearly didn’t love her. It is because of this, other than perhaps acting on basic, Neanderthal male instincts, that his actions are hard to understand in this situation.
