From Writing Topic #131 until Writing Topic #149 are “based on a book”. The book I have chosen to focus on is Where Rainbows End by Cecelia Ahern.

Would this book make a good movie? What would need changing? What locations that you personally know of could you use?**

This topic for me is a little bit of a cheat as Where Rainbows End was made into a movie last year. The movie is titled Love Rosie (which is the United States title of the novel).

The changes that were made for this movie included but were not limited to: a lot of characters (such as Miss Casey) being cut, two characters were merged into one, Alex moving to America as a young adult to study medicine as opposed to as a child because his dad got a promotion, the son Alex had with Sally in the novel turned out not to be his in the movie and the film spanned 12 years whereas the novel spanned almost 50 years. The movie could have been changed to include other characters and scenes from the novel, such as the relationship between Rosie and Miss Casey when they work together.

The locations that I personally know of that could have been used in Love Rosie? It could have been changed to incorporate and highlight Ireland more as it was the main location of the novel.
