John Marsden Writing Topic #317

Write a poem that begins ‘Let there be peace, and let it begin with me.’**

White Flag

Let there be peace, and let it begin with me,

I finally waved the white flag,

Or rather, my white, silk hankie as a white flag.

I had enough of everyone fighting:

Being hangry,

Getting angry,

Going in circles,

I had to end this war,

I had to bring the peace.

Let there be peace, and let it begin with me,

My wife has gone on strike,

The kids are causing strife

Because they can’t decide

on what they want.

Let there be peace and let it begin with me,

There’s only one way to end this war,

To end this strife,

I told the kids to cast their vote,

what do you want for dinner:

KFC or Domino’s?
