Year 11 Mathematics Advanced – Final marks & thoughts

I completed the Year 11 Mathematics Advanced course through TAFE Digital in 2021. My final marks can be found below:

As mentioned in a previous blog post, over the last two to three years, admittedly for some unknown reason, my passion for mathematics has re-emerged. I tried to fulfill this re-emerged passion by buying mathematics books, which included buying Basic Math & Pre-Algebra for Dummies, as an attempt to regain my mathematics skills. However I decided to re-do senior high school mathematics through TAFE as I’m someone who learns better through a formal learning environment. As I also mentioned in another previous blog post, as it has been so long since I have studied maths, I decided that the best first step to take was to enrol in the Year 11 Mathematics Standard course (the equivalent to the General Mathematics I studied in high school). The next step after completing this course was enrolling in and completing the Year 11 Mathematics Advanced course.
I thought that I would be capable of completing the advanced course as I completed the standard course with ease and received high marks, I was clearly wrong. Many of the topics and concepts went over my head and I couldn’t understand or comprehend them.
As I found the advanced course difficult, I have decided not to pursue my goal of gaining a Graduate Certificate in Mathematics. However I have decided to finish what I started by completing the Year 12 – Mathematics Standard (Pathway 2) course. I felt that since I completed the Year 11 – Mathematics Standard (Pathway 2) course, I might as well complete the Year 12 course, and I believe by doing so, I’ll still receive the TAFE Statement in HSC Studies.
Stay tuned…
