Write ten ways you could amuse yourself if the TV broke down**

2. Watch TV shows/DVDs on my laptop*

5. Read a book or magazine

6. Go for a walk

7. Play cards and/or board games

8. Go to the gym

9. Paint something/arts and crafts

10. Cook/bake something

 

*I’ve listed some extra examples to match the time when Everything I Know About Writing was published (1998)

11. Call my friends and family

12. Clean the house

13. Spring cleaning (or going through my clothes and other stuff)

14. Playing backyard cricket (or other casual backyard sports)

 

Some of my examples include going outside the house, I assume that could count as the writing topic doesn’t explicitly state that I had to stay inside my house.
