It wasn’t the first time this had happened, but it was the first time that it went viral.
Colleagues having affairs isn’t anything new. Think about it, if someone wants to have an affair, the office is the easiest place to start having one, as most people spend most of their lives working. Some people can be discreet, and others try to be, but generally the affair is the office’s worst kept secret.
I personally didn’t know them, I just sat a few feet away from them and was enjoying the music. They just seemed like an ordinary couple, until the Jumbotron showed them together, and Chris Martin prompted everyone to look at them by saying “oh, look at these two!”
They both reacted quickly, a little too quickly to the spotlight, when Chris made it worse for them by adding “come on, you’re okay…either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.”
I watched him duck for cover and her taking a moment to panic before fleeing.
I’m not sure which one of them came up with the idea of going to a concert together for a romantic date, but I’m sure they’ve been regretting it ever since. The irony is, if they had just acted like an ordinary couple and didn’t react at all, they most likely wouldn’t have been caught…well, at least not so soon and so publicly, and their date could have go on without a hitch.
Thank God I didn’t bring Miles with me to the concert, otherwise it would have been us.
