Pixar Era Analysis – The Experimental Era
Now that I’ve finished reviewing and analysing Pixar’s Merger Era, the next era I will be exploring is the Experimental Era.
The Experimental Era consisted of ten animated feature films, and lasted for eight years from 2011 until 2019:
- Cars 2
- Brave
- Monsters University
- Inside Out
- The Good Dinosaur
- Finding Dory
- Cars 3
- Coco
- Incredibles 2
- Toy Story 4
The Experimental Era is known for its large number of sequels, original films that thought outside the box, and an animation style perfected in each film rather than exploring new ground.
The Experimental Era ended with Toy Story 4 (interesting how this is the second Era to end with a Toy Story film), with the Personal Era kicking off in 2020 with Onward.
