Pit Stop
This cabin is haunted.
It’s all logs. Rustic, old, wet. Shabby, small, mossy. I thought it would be cute, polished, and warm. It’s so quiet outside that I can hear the whistle of the strong wind outside. It sounds like a ghost trying to scare me away. The tree branches keep knocking against the window, almost like a mythical creature trying to get in or mess with my mind.
I thought there’d be more space, but I can barely stretch in here. I can’t take a step without running into a wall.
Having to start my own fire and live out in the wilderness, it feels like I’ve gone back in time 100 years, how did people live like this? I just want to go back to my city apartment and electricity.
“For God’s sake, Rhiannon! It’s only until the car can get towed to the mechanic tomorrow!”
My boyfriend, Brett, loves the outdoors, he loves the cabin. Apparently he doesn’t love my complaining or hatred for it. Why did our car have to breakdown? Worst holidays ever.
