Surrender
I arrived at our meeting early, hoping to gather my thoughts and prepare my speech. I revised my arguments over and over and re-examined my wounds. We had fought for a long time, plenty of shots were fired, one attack after another.
He walked in without saying a word or showing emotion and approached the table with a look of apprehension. I motioned to him to take a seat.
We had been together for three years, loved hard and fought hard, but we knew we had to surrender.
It was time for us part ways.
We had finally found peace.
